I'm one to talk, I cut my locks 13 months ago for a mystical reason and will be starting 'em up again in January.

Well as you may know from my links i am a Wing Chun Gung Fu lover and i always said that if my locks started to get in the way of my training i would have to let them go.

I had training last night and they would not behave so they had to go.

Well, if you start up again in the future consider accessories (I need to find a more manly word, perhaps... ummm, "hair stuff") like a head band, no snag elastics, etc.

There's some to consider here...

You know better than me though if your martial arts instructor will allow you to wear these while training.

well, that's dedication for you. Just found your site today off knottyboy.com, and now you've chopped them off!!! But you have to do things like this occasionally i suppose, so good on you. But i just want you to know that you've got me really inspired as to my own dreadlock adventure that started almost a month ago now... they're ok, but some of them need backcombed tighter sometimes...

Well as i said to Natasha i did have my reasons, and i have had them for quite a while.

Regarding your own locks, here's my advice.

Get it right from the start as this will save a lot of time.

You need to really work on them, making sure that you get all the loose hair in those other locks.
