Regarding your own locks, here's my advice.

Get it right from the start as this will save a lot of time.

You need to really work on them, making sure that you get all the loose hair in those other locks.

Thanks for the comments and you can email me if you have any other questions.

Just look in my profile
Just found your site today off knottyboy.com, and now you've chopped them off!!! But you have to do things like this occasionally i suppose, so good on you. But i just want you to know that you've got me really inspired as to my own dreadlock adventure that started almost a month ago now... they're ok, but some of them need backcombed tighter sometimes...

Beeswax as an ingredient is fine just not pure beeswax plus you only need very little.
Only about a small peas size for each dread.

As for your roots, they will always be undreaded.

The reason for this is that the locking process takes place at the point after the 2 inches or so of hair at your scalp.

Give yerself a dozen sprays before you head out. Keeping your natural hair products in the fridge will extend their shelf life anyway.

Another tip is to soak your tam in water before going out. Depending on the *kind* of heat, you're head will be cooled off. If you leave in a country that's got high humidity, stay away from this as you're basically gonna steam your dreads (not a bad thing, per se, as it can be a great way to boost the conditioning of your hair but hard in hot weather).
I think I am really going to like them but they are looking super ratty right now as I am sure you know. I had a few q's tho....how often did you do your palmrolling and clockwise rubbing when you first got ur dreads? Should it be done everyday and for how long? On the dread site where they talk about "dreadballin" is that for the whole dread or just the roots? I have loose hairs all the way down my dreads but I am sure that is normal at this point, wouldn't you say? Anyway keep up the good work and thanks for sharing, it really helps to see a fellow dreadhead making progress :) 1Luv~Angel

In response to:Hello to you all

Well man, it wouldn't do them any harm if that's what you mean?

But new dreads tend to be a bit stiff (cus of the wax).

But all in all i don't see it as a problem
Yes i do practise Wing chun but this art is quite new to me as well. My martial arts background is Taekwondo, but since practising WC i have found something which is so absorbing in it's approach that i think i will continue with WC for the rest of my life. I LOVE IT!

I love Slipknot to but unfortunatly i am married with kids so not much chance of getting the time off lol!
